  7.     If anyone thinks she knows how to handle visitors, it's
  8. self-styled hotel queen Leona Helmsley. So after Saddam Hussein
  9. referred to his hostages as "guests," Helmsley last week
  10. addressed a full-page ad in the New York Times to the Iraqi
  11. President: "I can make one recommendation that I have never
  12. made in all the years I have been welcoming people: Mr.
  13. Hussein, it is time to check out." Acting in the "spirit of
  14. patriotism," the next day she switched on a 12-story
  15. illuminated American flag blazing from one of her husband's
  16. Manhattan buildings.
